The Muse: Spirits who inspire literature or arts YSL Muse: Inspires great wardrobes

Mr. Yves Saint Laurent has been labeled the "king of fashion". His designs are cherished by Parisians and Commoners alike. He produced a tuxedo jacket specifically for "Le Smoking", made the androgynous look chic on a woman, and then there are stories of the old woman who spent the last 40 years wearing one perfectly crafted YSL suit. His designs have shaped the house of Christian Dior and the fashion world at large and after his death the house still continues to turn out some of the most talked about runway shoes in the industry. While the collection has shifted through different leadership (Alber Elbaz in the 90's - now at Lanvin) and Tom Ford - the classic appeal of the collection makes each piece timeless.

YSL's muse was Catherine Deneuve but for me, there is one perfect piece "muse" that I think would inspire each wardrobe decision I made with the ultimate in chic: The YSL Muse bag. It stands on a shelf at Saks, Beachwood not so much frowning but looking at me in an upside down smile. It's been around for a while and is probably in the way back of Kate Moss's closet by now - but one day I will have the extra (gulp) $1,395 to make this front and center. Tres Parfait.
